SEAI Solar PV Grants Ireland

The SEAI (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland) Better Energy Homes Scheme is an Irish government-funded scheme that offers grants to property owners that wish to improve the energy efficiency of their properties. The goal of the scheme is to encourage property owners to increase the energy efficiency of their property, which provides financial gains to the homeowners while improving the carbon footprint of society as a whole.

Who is eligible for the grant?

Property owners, both private and landlords, can apply for the SEAI solar PV grants; however, the property must be built and occupied prior to 2021. The government determines this date via the date that your electricity meter was initially installed. Additionally, the property must not have received SEAI support before.

How Much Can You Apply For?

The SEAI Solar PV grants is available at €900 per kWp up to 2kWp and €300 for every additional kWp up to 4kWp. Total grant available capped at €2,400. Consider the following example:
